Among with correct ASCII art display, GetDiz offers you the possibility to save any .txt, .diz or .nfo files as GIF images.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
Why does GetDiz not display some non-English letters correctly?
A:In order to display non-English characters (such as ä, ß or é) correctly you must select both a font and a script that support the specific language. Head to the Options menu and click Set Font Style and Color. In the next window select a font and a script. Example: To display Cyrillic, you can set the font to Courier New and the Script to Cyrillic. Please note that you'll lose ASCII art support if you select a font other than the default (GetDizLarge or GetDizTiny). So the best practice is to select a font that can display non-English characters for .txt files, but leave the GetDizLarge or GetDizTiny font for .diz and nfo files. GetDiz will switch both fonts automatically if you load a file of the corresponding file type.
Q:Why does auto-width calculation (Options | Window Dimensions) not always work?
A:Width calculation is only possible if you use a fixed-width font with GetDiz (like GetDizLarge, Terminal or Courier). It is not possible with variable-width fonts (like Arial, Tahoma or Courier New).
